THROWBACK FUSION
Poppa Steve
My first band was The Rhythm Kings, (’58 – ‘61) in my hometown of Rockford, Illinois. We played early Rock ‘n Roll, of course, and I was the drummer and bandleader.
My second band, The Daze & Knights, (‘65 – ‘70) was a road band for the William Morris Agency and we backed up their current hit solo and group singers in Rock, Country, Pop and Blues.
As a music producer from the early ‘70s through 2005 I evolved into contemporary Jazz. And finally, for the past 16 years I have been a composer and producer for my own music label, Dry Heat Records. It is this background that I bring to my music today. I like to call it Feel Good Groove and this album is a prime example of the “sound” I’ve developed over my years of experience as touched on above. I hope you enjoy it and thanks for listening.
